Bentley's Restaurant, Lake Ozark Missouri

A name taken from a prestigious British automobile has evolved into a prominent family- owned restaurant that has withstood the test of time at the Lake of the Ozark.

Clarence and Margaret Ziegler founded Bentley’s Restaurant & Pub in St. Louis more than three decades ago, and then opened the Lake area restaurant 35 years ago. Current owner Bill Ziegler said his parents were in search of a name for their original restaurant on Manchester Street in Des Peres near St. Louis. They happened to see a Bentley car and were attracted to the name. Ultimately, the quality of the British automobile has been reflected in the dedication to quality and consistency at the restaurant.

Restaurants have been in the Ziegler bloodline since the 1960’s. Bill’s parents were in the business with friends before heading out on their own. Eventually, they opened a second Bentley’s on Olive Street in Olivette, another St. Louis suburb.

Bentley’s is open Monday through Saturday at 5 p.m. Reservations are encouraged, but not required.

The restaurant is closed in January and February.

About Us

“It’s a family business,” Ziegler said, noting the involvement of his nine brothers and sisters. They are silent partners. Two live in the Lake Area, one in Florida and the others in the St. Louis area.

"Refinement" and "precision" are words used to describe Bentley Motors. Ziegler and his staff employ those standards in their approach to providing quality food, a full bar and customer service. That attention to detail is evident in the simplicity and design of the menu and wine list, the array of brass etchings on the walls and the demeanor of the wait staff, neatly attired in tuxedo shirts and black bow ties.

The British theme is evident throughout the restaurant’s interior. Dark oak dominates the three dining rooms and the quaint bar that anchors the center of the building. Two main dining areas seat 140 comfortably at neatly appointed tables. White cloth napkins accent red tablecloths, and the centerpieces complement the overall theme, including a fireplace.

Menu

Bentley’s Restaurant & Pub is a beef and seafood restaurant, though there is something on the menu for nearly every discerning palate.

Rib, Chops & Steak
We’re known for our prime rib. We have four cuts and even bigger if you request them. They range from the 12oz. Bentley’s cut to the King Size cut at 18oz. Each one is encrusted in sea salt. There are also chops, both pork and veal, and four steaks, including the handsome filet mignon Pepper Steak.

Seafood
Seafood specialties include the popular Orange Roughy, broiled or sautéed with fresh spinach, mushrooms and peppers in a wine lemon sauce. Sole Florentine is also on the menu, our version of a filet of sole stuffed with spinach, shrimp, peppers, onions and served with tomato cream sauce on a bed of angel hair pasta. The traditional favorites, shrimp and crab legs are also included, as is a regional favorite, Ozark Trout Amandine.

Other
There are five varieties of poultry, four choices on the lighter side, a children menu and a plethora of appetizers heavy on the seafood and Italian side. To complete the experience Bentley’s offers a suite of indulgences including pastries, ice cream, sundaes, coffee drinks, and after dinner liqueurs.

Wine
Ziegler is especially proud of his 65-bin wine selection. Featured wines include Beaulieu Vineyard Coastal Cabernet Sauvignon and Kendall-Jackson Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay. We offer wine by the glass or the bottle.
