World traveler, entrepeneur, food expert, sports fan, and general man about town, Pickled Pete made his way to The Lake of the Ozarks in October of 1999. Football season well on its way, Pete looked for a place that he could watch his favorite teams fo to battle on the grid iron.
After patronizing many of the lake's finest sports establishments, Pete realized that the lake was lacking a family sports environment that multiple games could be watched on multiple televisions. Pete was also on a strict diet and could only eat food that was hand crafted and made with the freshest of ingredients. What to do? What to do? As we all know, pickles tend to be thinkers. With all these ideas running through Pete's pickle head what was he to do?
With a few months before his trip to climb Mt. Everest, Pete came up with a grand plan to open a sports bar. This decision however was not without problems...Pete was a pickle, not to mention a cartoon character. Was the lake area ready for a pickled cartoon character? Was the lake ready for a sports bar of this caliber? Was the lake ready for great food, great service and great fun? YES, YES, YES! The decision was made and off Pete went to find a location.
After days on the road, Pete found himself drawn to a glowing beacon in the sky. A glowing nine ball was calling Pete (not to mention his thirst for a drink and a game of pool)... Upon entering the building and beating the local eight ball champ...SMACK! A q-ball flew off of a table and Pete found himself lying on the ground with a nasty bump on his melon. While Pete was recovering from the wayward shot...it hit him! (No, not another q-ball, but a great idea!) This was the spot... THE perfect location for a new and inovative sports Mecca. Now Pete had a location and a grand scheme, but what about the name? Well...let's just say pickles are extremely vain and very fond of themselves, so declared the only name that would work...Pickled Pete's Sports Bar & Grill. The logo, of course, would be fashioned to resemble none other than Pete, himself.
Being an international business pickle, how was he going to manage such a large endeavor with such a busy schedule? Pete (a tow handicap) set of to the golf course where his mind would be free to make this difficult decision. Upon arriving at the course, Pete was paired up with a couple of local restaurant managers - Jeff Carroll and Bryan Peterson. Much to Pete's delight, the two men had a love for golf, sports and the restaurant business. After nine and a seven-hole carry over it finally hit him! (No, not a golf ball, but another great idea!) Who better to run his new venture than these two enthusiastic and friendly restauranteurs?...On January 9th, 2000, after months of planning and lots of sweat equity, Pete's dream became a reality!!!
